lubrication for a slave clock

I recently purchased a battery operated electronic mechanism to run the original movement on my IBM slave clock. It runs great and keeps acccurate time.
Do the movements on these clocks require lubrication and if so what should I use to lubricate the mechanism?

Quartz (battery-operated) movements do not require any sort of lubricating. In fact, the most maintenance you will find with a quartz movement simply entails changing the battery every year or so.

I have a slave clock with it's original clock movement which now runs on a ditgital pulse mechanism instead of a master clock pulse. Does the orignal
slave clock movement need lubricating?

Unfortunately, that goes beyond my experience. I do know, however, that many schools typically use the slave clock system. You may be able to inquire with a custodial engineer in regard to what maintenance is required for a master/slave (wired) clock system. I would try to garner a couple of opinions. You can also check back here for any suggestions from forum patrons. The other aspect is a certified clock repair person. Most are very knowledgeable with a wide array of movement types - and may be able to offer a more definitive answer.
