Post subject: mainspring winder
hi everybody can someone tell me how to fix my mainspring winder it is a webster from m & p it will only work one way i think it is the spring can any one help thank you.

Have you tried contacting any of the clock parts suppliers such as Merritts or Timesavers etc, that handle Webster products? They should be able to put you in touch with the manufacturer for repair parts or service.

Your first action should be to contact us (M&P). It sounds like the ratchet click spring has broken off where it is clamped with a grub screw. We normally have these in stock and if the winder is less than 12 months old it would be a warranty replacement.
This is a common problem, in fact so common we feel the design needs looking at with regards to this. At the point it normally snaps, the spring is being rotated, not flexed, probably beyond its normal limits.
