Post subject: Matthew Norman
Hi I have been searching hi and low to find out about a clock I have with no joy. I wonder if anyone can help me here I've been in stores looked on the net and am stumped.
The clock itself is has Matthew Norman on the face and is finished to a great standard unusually it is a gimbaled captains clock however with two hinged lids a solid top one that when open shows a glass through which to view and also a secondary to gain access to the clock itself. Each corner has protected brass fittings and it is a solid wood finish.
Many thanks for taking the time to view this thread.

Thanks amrad,
I looked at the site and my research had told me that the company had brought Matthew Norman out quite a few years ago.
I even called them to ask about this particular piece and they do not know of it well it is not one they produce or have, that's why I'm stuck I cant find the model anywhere.
I'm sure its not a one off item yet I can not find another like it anywhere.

your description is a bit confusing. if it is 'gimballed' it may be a ships piece.
Matthew Norman made many french carriage clocks so could this be a version of one such time piece?
