Hello,
This is my first post here. I have recently inherited some stuff. Two of these items are the following clocks. Both are Mauthe The first one is larger than the second. What can you fine folks tell me about these.

Apparently, funnylife has problems...
From what I have gleaned, the Mauthe clock company had been in business since the late 1800's. The height of clock production for this company was well into the 1900's, at one point employing about 2,000 workers in the 1930's. I believe that the factory closed its doors in the mid 1970's. Mauthe clocks appear to be collectible and garner some modest values through various internet auction sites. You may be able to find more information through antique price guides or antiquity appraisers.
Judging by the style of each assembly, I would guess that the first one would be the newer one. The second one has a very retro feel with the clock face. I would guess the second one would date somehwere around the 1930's - 1940's. From the standpoint of viewing the exterior of the cases only, both look to be in great condition.
