I recently had to replace the battery operated movement on my sunburst clock. I was told by the clock repair person that they had size double A and size C battery movements. I originally had a size D battery movement. I chose size double A since it was in stock. When I brought it home and put it up on the wall. The whole look of the clock was ruined. It used to look like it was floating on the wall now it looks like it collapsed on the wall. Does anyone have any suggestions or know it there is a D battery mechanism out there that I can use to bring this clock up off the wall?

Consider some type of cleat(s) instead. A cleat (or cleats) can be fabricated out of wood and used to provide a stand-off for the clock assembly (to gap the clock away from the wall it is hanging on). For Klockit's "Time for prayer" clock kit #34002, I believe we use 3/8" diameter dowels (at about a 3/4" length). These dowels secure to the backside of the frame assembly in counter-bored holes and protrude about 1/2" (allowing the clock to appear as though it were floating out in front of the wall by 1/2"). The upper center rear dowel is larger in diameter and has a hole drilled into one end. This hole is large enough to fit over the head of a screw (so the satnd-off also serves as a means for wall hanging).

Stand-offs would not have to be round dowel stock. They could be square or rectangular as well. These alternate shapes lend themselves to using some type of metal wall hanger (secured to the back end of the cleat) for more stability. In certain cases, they also allow use of metal brackets to secure the cleats to the backside of the clock (rather than drilling dowel holes like we do with the 34002 kit). Just a thought...
