Hello-

I have a German Franz Herme 2 Jewel Movement Mantel Clock that stops in the middle of a winding cycle. Is it possible that it could be the movement on the clock? If so, anyone know roughly how much it would be to get something like this fixed?

What is the movement number ? Is it a Floating balance wheel or a pendulum movement? Is it FULLY wound? Does everything stop or just the time train? How old is the movement? Does it need oiling? Is it worn out?

Since you mentioned it says Franze Hermle and Sons it is probably an older movement. These are most often replaced rather than overhauled. Due to cost of each.

some old ones can be serviced depending on how worn out it is as stated above. people run these for 20 years without a service and expect a simple repair is needed.
