Post subject: mystery clockpart
I bought a bucket of metal parts described as cuckoo clock weights, but they are not. Can anyone help me identify them? They are ferrous, painted black. A square with an ivy design, a narrow neck and a triangle shaped piece on top with a hole drilled in each corner. Thes are about 5 inches from the bottom of the square and the top of the triangle. I have also seen these in smaller size.
They don't lay flat. The square is slighlty offset from the triangle, so I don't thinlk they are hinges. The auctioneer said they came in with a shipment of cuckoo clock parts.
I want to use them in sculptures, but would like to sell some to cover the cost of the bucketfull.

From your description these are definitely not cuckoo weights. For that matter I am almost certain that they are not clock parts at all.

Do you have a picture? It might be a hollow clock case.
