Hi,

I built a grandfather clock 37 yrs ago (1970), which is still running well.
I need a minute hand for it and don't know who made the mvmt. I bought the triple chime chain drive unit from a company called Mason & Sullivan. The only name they had for it was the Longfellow Mvmt. Anybody know what company made it for them? Or was it their own brand?

Thanks
JerryM

Mason and Sullivan contracted with several manufacturers to supply clock movements to them. They did not manufacture any movements themselves. These were usually factory stock items and the only difference was that Mason & Sullivan's name was stamped on the movement plates instead of the manufacturer's name. Normally the original movement model number also appeared along with the M&S name and thus the movement can be identified from that number.
