Post subject: Need battery help. LR44 called out - can I use a 357 cell
Hi;
I need some help from the experts. I have a small desk clock (Seiko) that takes an LR44 cell. I need to replace the battery and am trying to determine if I can substitute a Silver Oxide 357 or SR44 for the Alkaline LR44 cell. I get free 357's at work (where the clock is) and can also find them at the local grocery but LR44's are not carried there. The 357 package says replaces a LR44 however I asked Seiko and after a long wait they said use the LR44 and tried to sell me one for $12.00 (Yeah- right)
I know my calculator will function fine with either LR44's or 357's and the Silver Oxide cells last longer. Is there any reason they the same would not be true of a clock?
Thanks

Yes no problem. Alkaline are better in my opinion but 357 will dothe job.
Just make sure when the battery needs replacing you do it straight away to stop it leaking.
