Post subject: need clock movement replaced
i have a sheng bang model HD-1688 quartz clock movement. what would be a qualified replacement

You need to give us more info, does the clock chime, does it have a pendulum, size of movement, etc...
Most any quartz clock movement can be used if the handshaft length is long enough. You will need to measure the one you have and look in the catalog for a similar sized one.

Quartz movements are pretty versitile. Threaded shaft length would be a dimension you would want to make note of. Please refer to the helpful hint link for further explanation. There are also other helpful hint links in regard to quartz movements that you may wish to check out
When looking at replacement movements, make certain to verify that the overall movement dimensions can be applied to your existing case assembly (in terms of length, width, and depth). Also make note of the pendulum bob diameter (so that you can find a similar size bob if not exact). You may also want to measure your minute hand length (from the center of the mounting hub to the end of the hand) so that you may select a hand combo size that would be appropriate.
