I am cutting clock numbers from vinyl to adhere to the wall. I need to know which of the movements, etc. that I need to purchase. Everything will be attached directly into the wall and I do not have any idea what to order or if I need to also purchase something that is used to attach the movement and hands. Thanks for any help that I can get.

The type of movement will depend on where the numerals fall in relation to the center hand shaft of the movement. We can use the minute (longer) clock hand as a basis to determine this. As a rule of thumb, if you require a minute hand that is 7" or shorter, you can use a standard quartz movement.

If you will require a minute hand that is longer than 7", you will require a high torque movement:

MDF hubs are also a nice option for a wall clock of this nature (as it will disguise the movement and can be painted/stained as desired). The hub can be used with either movement.

If you should wish to use the hub, then you would require a movement with a maximum dial thickness of 1/8" (or more).
