Hi,

I just got an old Hamilton Forestville grandfather clock. It looks like a limited edition ( 9 of 175 according to the faceplate). It looks like it has Kieninger mechanism ( logo ). This is what i found in the back 93cm 84 K Hamilton Made in West Germany. The movement has 8 hammers on one side and 4 hammers on the other so it might be a triple chime. It has a wooden door so you can't see the weights or pendulum. It is missing the weights and the pendulum. Does anybody know what type I need to get and where I could possibly get them? I need to keep my cost to a minimum so I woukld appreciate anybody's help.

Thanks.

Bob

Kieninger movements should have the model number on the rear plate of the movement itself (either left or right side). For example: Klockit's #13055 has a Kieninger model number of H12. Our #13049 has a model number of 06K. I believe that the "84 K" designation is the model number for your movement, but re-check the back plate just to make certain. The 93 cm designation refers to the pendulum required (as pendulums will always be designated on the rear plate of movements in cm increments - at least, to the best of my awareness).

Once you know the model number, you should be able to find the weights and pendulum using the model number as reference (although Klockit would not be a possible source - as we do not carry this particular Kieninger movement). That being said, there are sources out there that deal primarily with replacement parts for many brands of mechanical movements.

The clock face may be an inidcator of your movement being triple chime. There should be three chime options printed on the clock face to the left or right of the chime select lever. Typically, these options include Westminster, Whittington, and St Micheals.
