Post subject: New here
I just brought home a grandfathers clock my grandfather built for my mother. It keeps time, but the chime does not work. The chain is stuck and will not rotate the sprocket. As far as I can tell, it does not appear the chain is off the sprocket. The movement is from J. C. Armor Company and was purchased in the 70's. The movement was manufactured in Germany. I have removed the movement from the clock; I am hesitant to remove it from the box. It is secured by two bolts that appear to be more then bolts which secure it. They just seem too nice or fancy for something that will not be seen. Looking for any suggestions before I move forward with it.
Thanks Bill

I can take a picture and post it, but I am not sure what I should take a picture of. You really cannot see much of the workings. I could remove the two bolts that appear to be securing the workings in the box, but as I said I am not sure if these bolts do more then secure the workings.

To be honest Bill i think you would be wise to have it serviced as it seems it needs it. 40 years is a long time to go without one - too long.
