I have the new Kieninger 9 tube and the chimes worked great for the first 4-5 days. Now they stop working after a few hours. It is level and weights are correct, levers are correct. I even tried to change

Any ideas? The book is not very helpful

The instructions probably will not detail any sort of specific repair to the movement. Most movement instructions only cover general troubleshooting and no repair aspects (I can attest that Klockit's do). The instructions are written this way for a reason: The reason being that movement repairs are best left to those who are experienced and qualified to do so. As a skilled trade, most qualified service people have trained over the span of years to diagnose, service, and/or repair mechanical movements. While there are texts and information out there (about repair) that you can find, I would not consider it an option. If you have never repaired a movement before, you probably do not want to experiment and learn on a movement as expensive as the 9-tube. Making repairs on your own would also probably void the warranty.

If this is a new movement, check your warranty information. Contact the company you purchased the movement from (that is, contact them directly via phone). If you purchased the movement through Klockit, you can ask to speak to Klockit's mechanical technician. (Note: Klockit offers a 3 year warranty on the 9-tube). Even if you did not purchase the movement through Klockit, the mechanical technician might be able to help troubleshoot (as Klockit carries a 9-tube movement from Kieninger).

While my knowledge is only general at best, it sounds like you may be in need of a repair or adjustment (although I can not tell you this with any certainty). If there is a need to repair the chime train (or adjust any of the core component parts of the chime train), then this should be covered under warranty.

Klockit's customer service only takes voice messages and will not call you back unless you call many times. They have yet to ever answer their phone on the tech assist line and they never give you that phone number.

This is the best that's out there?

I am sorry to hear this...

Due to limited personel, Klockit's tech line is set up as voice mail. These calls are pulled and distributed to the proper techs for call back. This process can take a bit of time.

We can try to expidite this process. You are more than welcome to call Klockit's toll free number (1-800-556-2548) and ask for me (Chris - ext #4853). If asked what the call is in regard to, just tell them I am expecting your call back. If you get my voice mail, it simply means I am on the line with another customer. Leave a message and I will call you back. Otherwise, I will pick up if I am not on the phone already.

Once again, my mechanical movement knowledge is general at best, so I may not be able to help in that avenue. But I will personally walk your information to our mechanical movement technician for immediate call back if that is what it will take to get you the assistance you require. I will be standing by to help in any way that I can...
