New owner,Middle cable wound to far .

Clock was shipped with middle gear lying loose in box . I installed gear and proceaded to wind clock . How do I alighn gear and pull enough cable to allow hanging of weight

You don't say what kind clock - assume chime but when you say align what do you mean?

is it chain or repro with cable?

Hermley 9 tube mechanical movement.
middle weight gear has a timing mark I guess ? How do alighn the timing mark.
Also middle cable is not long enough to hang the weight pulley.
How do I get more cable off the spindle?

no timing mark on these

hook something on the chain to pull down on the wheels and let it trip thro untill far enough for the weight
