Post subject: operation of chimes and moonphase and over all function
Hello thre ,
I am new to this forum so hope I can get some help .I recently got a grandfathers clock from my mother in law that we got for her many years ago from a friend .
It is handmade in Amish country in PA. have no idea as to how it works or setting the Moon Phase portion and getting it to Chime as well . In the case it says center and left weight are the same and the right one is 2 pounds lighter .On the face on the right side is a small lever that can be moved up and down and have no idea what is is or what it does . There are no directions at all for the operation so that is why I am here .
Any and all help would be apprecited . I did how ever get it really leveled up so that it runs better .
Thank you one and all for help .
Bernie

Normally the 1/4 hour chime is driven by the weight on the right. It should have the heaviest weight because the chime train has more gears to turn and needs more power. The other two weights usually do not matter. The lever on the right side of the dial is the chime lever. It either turns the chimes off or has three or four positions which determine which melody is to be played by the chime train. Try different positions and see if it starts chiming.
