I am replaceing a battery operated chiming movement that now has a 12" pendulum. If I order a movement with a 19" pendumlum can I shorten it to 12"?

If you order a quartz pendulum movement from Klockit, it will more than likely feature a break-away pendulum stick (which allows you to adjust the pendulum to desired length). The backside of the pendulum stick will feature etch marks at (about) 1" increments. The pendulum stick can be gripped (with pliers) just below the etch line of the length you want, and then carefully bent back and forth until the excess breaks away. In most cases, if not all, the pendulum is simply for "show" on a quartz movement. Shortening the pendulum should not affect time keeping.
