Post subject: Pendulum Question
I was given the movement for a grandfather clock, but it did not have the pendulum. Is there anything specific I need to look for in a replacement?
BTW, I haven't decided on a case design yet.

Do you have any information or other details about this movement? Is it new, old, or of fairly recent manufacture? Is it spring wound, weight wound and is it a chiming, hour strike or a time only movement?
Usually there are numbers, etc. stamped into the backplate of the movement which would offer a clue as to the type, pendulum length, etc that is required. It might also dictate the size of case that would be necessary to properly house the movement as well.

Thanks, I'll have to dig out the works and see what I can find. I stumbled on the forum and thought I'd post the question!
