If I remove the pendulum the movement moves back and forth but of course runs fast. When I hang the pendulum after a few seconds the movement stops. IS this a weight issue? This clock has music and animation. Thank you.

sounds like the clock is not in beat, make sure the clock is level. An adjustment may also need to be made to the verge.

I think it might be more so a balance issue. Make certain the clock case (particularly the movement) is level. If this does not correct the issue, then a beat adjustment may be necessary. The pendulum is usually hung from a piece called the pendulum leader. This leader extends up the movement. About 1/4 to 1/3 of the way above where the pendulum mounts, there should be a small pin/arm which extends through the backside of the movement, as well as through the pendulum leader. This is referred to as the crutch arm. With the leader removed, check to see if the crutch arm swings an equal distance from center to left as it does from center to right. Push the cructh arm to the left until you feel slight resistance. Do the same for the right. Push through the resistance on the side where the swing is shorter to even out the swing. Replace the leader onto the crutch arm, then hang the pendulum. Start the pendulum and see if it will continue to swing (you should hear an even Tick-Tock).

Thank you. It does look like the crutch arms moves more to the left than the right. Can this be adjusted? Pushing pass the resistance didn't seen to change the distance.
