Hi

My brother just gave me a grandfather clock (Pearl H-451).

I have a problem to start it. When a move the pandulum at the far left, it is working for 5 minutes, than it stop. Diring that time, the time on the clock move for 5 minutes!

The level is OK. I don't know if the suspension spring can be brooke? How i see it is broke?

Is there any other adjustment?

Thank you

Andre

probably needs servicing.
how old is it? - look on the back plate and look for numbers like the one you refer to which is the model number by the way.

you will see 451 - ___ and '73 or similar. - this is the year it was made.

if its really old - over 20years, then you may have to replace the mechanism - easist and best solution.

To have it serviced will get it to run only a few years longer unless its in really good condition.

If its newer then may be ok to service depending if its worn out or not. wear usually depends how regular the service intervals were.
Look for dirt in the mechanism - lots mean trouble.
