Post subject: Problems with Ingraham 8 day alarm clocks
Hi, When I wind this clock, the pin under the balance wheel ends up on the outside of the guard on the pallet fork and will not work unless the pin is placed back in the middle of the guard. when this is done the clock will run until the end. nothing seems bent or out of place. and clock keeps good time but is pretty useless if you have to take the back off each time you wind it. This has also happened when moving hands foward. but happens every time the clock is wound. Thanks in advance. Jeff

sounds like the wheel is overbanking when excess power is supplied. I would look at the banking pins on either side of the fork. also look at the pin on the balance wheel, see if it is bent back slightly that it can slip out of the fork.
Good luck
