Post subject: Puzzling Lorenz Furtwangler & Sohne clock.
Basket case clock but too interesting to ignore in the rubbish skip. So I rescued it before the first fall of rain.
Marking on the face (fairly small) LFS Schulz Marke and in large letters D.R.PATENT. Rear plate has small LFS logo stamped within the image of an escapement wheel.
Serial number 1102
Hands: Conventional face but minute hand is black and hour hand red with short pointer on other end with small diameter revolving brass scale behind with marked gradualtions 1 to 12. There is also a hand lever bottom left marked 0 12 24 .
There is a bell on top of the case, rung by a revolving shaft. There is also a vertical rod with fingerknob beside the bell.
Nothing works so I am rather confused as to what sort of clock this is and what it's age might be. Small wooden case will sit on a shelf or was it designed to be wall mounted ?
Any help on this clock would be appreciated.
I am a new boy on the forum and not sure how to post the photos but you should be able to copy the URL's if they don't show :
