Quarter Chiming clock - Identify and help

Hi Recently I bought this chiming clock, will any one help me to identify the make and also the year. Clock was working fine when I bought but when I wound the hour strike key (Right hand side key hole) after 15 turn it completely recoiled with great force which hurt my fingers after that I am unable to wound the key, its moving freely for one turn and again moves back. Other then the hour strike rest of the chiming and movements are working fine. What might be the problem? Will any one help me with a solution.
