I'm looking for a quartz movement for a Hampton clock - it's the clock part of a clock/barometer set - round brass with glass bezel. The movement does not have the normal threaded shaft. Instead, the back of the clock face has a protruding "nipple" with a threaded OD. the movement itself has a mating threaded ID, through which the shaft extends. The OD portion sticking out the back of the face is about 9/32 in. (OD) and extends about 1/4 in. The movement mounts to the face by threading the entire movement onto the OD threads on back of the face. A thick round rubber washer/gasket was installed between the movement and the face. Can you help me locate such a movement?

Thanks, Rick

clockmakers fit a new movement with a shaft by removing the old bits and adapting the movement to fit.
This takes a bit of skill and the hands are altered to fit and keep the original look to the clock.

Rick,

The U.T.S. Movement on my Ship's Clock has such a mount. Thanks for your post, it was the key to working out how to get my movement off. Now I have to measure the nipple, in metric of course, find a source for UTS movements, and acquire or make the little wrench to hold the nipple. I could fit a different movement, but I would prefer not to damage the face removing the nipple to make the installation.
