Post subject: Quartz Pendulum Movement Strikes One Minute Late
I've just built a Kingston Regulator clock with the electronic quartz pendulum movement #12238. The chimes at the hour and quarter hour are about one minute late. Do I have to remount the hands or can I just push the hour hand forward a tiny bit? I don't want to screw it up so any tuning advice is appreciated. I can live with it but since I built the clock from scratch I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

You could check to see if the minute (longer) hand fits somewhat loosely on the I-shaft once the cap nut (or open nut) is removed. If so, you may be able to adjust for this and then thread the cap/open nut back into place to secure the hand.
If this does not work, I believe that there is a method for adjustment to synchronize the time and chimes. Unfortunately I am not as familiar with what exactly has to be done. I would recommend giving one of our quartz technicians a call so that they can describe the proper process. The number is 1-800-556-6474. If need be, please leave a message and a technician will get back to you.
