Reluctant 30 hour movement.

New to these shores so forgive my ignorance.

Clock collecting is a new hobby to me but I'm slowly gathering the basics. Have just bought an 1810'ish 30 hour longcase and it all seems nicely screwed together - but it repeatedly stops after approx 15 minutes of running.

Once stopped it refuses to beat - even if you remove the pendulum and tweak the crutch - however if you then move the minute hand forward a few mins it leaps back into life for a further quarter of an hour or so.

It seems to be in beat and I can find no other clues. Any ideas please ?

look for wear - usuall culprit.

sounds loike power is lost somwhere.
