Post subject: Replacing and electric movement with a batt. operated one
I have a pretty old Ingraham clock with a small electric motor movement. I would like to replace it. What type of batt. movement will handle a set of hands that are approx. 6" long?
Thanks for any suggestions.

Any quartz movement should work fine (whether standard, non-chime pendulum, chiming, chiming with pendulum, etc). Take note of the movement dimensions to ensure that it would fit in your existing case as a suitable replacement. Take note of the thickness of the clock face (or dial). You will need to select a movement with a maximum dial thickness equivalent or greater to your clock face. If it is greater, you can always look into spacing the movement back if the need should be.

You will probably not be able to use the existing hands from your old movement. You can select a pair of hour and minute hands which would be free with purchase of a quartz movement through Klockit. Try to find a similar hand (in length and style), or go with a different style hand. Note that some hand styles do lend themsleves to being trimmed with a pair of scissors if the need should be.
