I have inherited my grandfathers home-made (1944) grandfather clock - Eli Terry Wooden works and all. So I am looking for a place to start. I believe I have all of the parts. The case is beautifull - very skilled workmanship as he was a die maker at John Deer in Waterloo. I think ideally it would be great to have the original Eli Terry design documents - would 1814 be right? - mentioned in the old newspaper article... I am a mechanical engineer by training so can develop whatever I need too. Suggestions? Idea

Ebay has the plans for sale every so often, or this fellow might be able to help.

Plans can also be purchased from the American Clock and Watch museum. The plan for the wooden movement (and separate plans for the case) are a bit pricey, but should reflect the original Eli design.

Not sure which item to get from the clock museum. The one for the tall clock wood movement design seems to be the best match except it is "Silas Hoadley" material not Eli's. The other choice for the Eli's movement is described as "Eli Terry 30-hour shelf clock wood movement". Not sure which one is best. Wanna see pictures of mine? How do I send pictures?

Unfortunately, I am told that pictures can not be posted within this forum. I would, however, suggest contacting the museum via phone or e-mail. They would best be able to answer your question (given that it is their plan product). I have not seen the plans physically - but thought I would recommend them to see if they might prove helpful to you.
