I have a grandmother clock made around 1935 the wood has been coated with either varnish or shellac . Can anyone tell me the best way to clean it. It is quite dirty.

Dont know for sure but from what you say it may be and i stress maybe a night watchmans clock .they go to certain points on a factoryand use the clock to prove they were thereat a set time. Just a gue ...

I have a movement for an empire clock the number on it is 40488. it has no pendulem but the fusee set up and clock are ok can anyone tell me where i can get any info on this
