Hello,

I have recently acquired an old Sessions wall clock. It was removed from my hometown's courthouse when it was torn down in the 1920s, and I assume it is from the 1900-1920 period. When I wind and start it, it runs, but if I'm not careful, the pendulum will swing in a circle rather than just side to side. It will get worse and worse, until it's swinging mainly front to back, and the clock will stop. If I'm really careful I can get it going side-to-side, but as soon as the clock chimes on the hour or half hour, it goes "wonky" again and stops soon after. I would think there would be an easy fix for this, but I've looked at it for a while and haven't been able to figure it out. Of course, I'm not experienced with mechanical clocks at all.

Thanks!
Wes

It sounds like the guide that keeps the pendulum swinging side to side is broken, or not engaged.

sounds like the suspension is kinked or broken.
