I have a grandfather 8 tube with a Selsi German Works serial number 1097698. I would like to know wht others may know about Selsi and if they put works into Charles Jacque or other american made clocks. thanlks.

Although the name sounds vaguely familiar I don't know of any firm that used their movements.

Jacques was known to use movements made by Bawo & Dotter (particularly their 9 and 11 tube marvels). I believe there was one that had as many as 13 tubes with 10 tunes that could be selected.

U.S firms often used movements made by Elliott, Durfee, Waltham, Winterhalder & Hofmeier, Herschede, Kieninger, Hermle, Jauch, Urgos and others, but to the best of my knowledge I have never known of any of them using one made by Selsi.
