Replace the AA battery and the clock resets to 12:18 each time I push the REC button. Does anyone know where I can find the manual on how to reset the time?

It sounds like this is an RC (or Atomic) movement. That's the hard part with the Sheng Bang movements - they all seem to be a model #1688.

This is for manual signal reception for an RC movement:

Press and hold the REC button for 3 seconds
All hands should revert back to the 12 position
The clock will begin searching for the radio signal to update the time. It will do this for about 5 to 15 minutes. If it does not update the time (and reverts back to the previous time), then reception has failed. Despite this, the clock will continue to look for the radio signal on its own.

Make certain there are not factors which hamper the signal recption. Electronic devices such as computers, TVs, flourecent lighting, microwaves, etc can hamper signal recpetion. Note also that the radio signal is coming from Colorado (unless you are overseas). Try placing the clock in a window facing the direction of Colorado. Also note that radio signals are strongest at night. Allow the clock 24 hours or so to latch onto the signal.

One other thing, normal signal reception searching occurs after the batteries have been inserted. No matter what, the movement will continually try to recieve the signal at certain intervals throughout a 24 hour period.

One last thing - - You can always remove the hands and re-mount them at the 12:00 position before you insert the battery. No need to push the REC button after you insert the battery. Remember that the clock will try looking for the signal anyway...
