Post subject: Slate Clock
I am building a slate clock 12" x 12". it is uneven but about 3/4" thick in the middle where the movement will go. I need help with two things: 1. Which movement(s) can I use for this clock and 2. What is the best way to hang it on the wall? Any help would be appreciated.

must be a fairly heavy clock. not sure how you could affix it to the wall. You could probably hang it by some heavy cording if you drilled a couple of hole in the slate. Another option is to epoxy a bracket to the back of the Slate, may call a granite countertop fabricator and see what they suggest.
Another option is to make a special shelf to hold it, something out of angle iron, with a scroll design; maybe a shelf made out of hardwood with a groove to hold the slate as well?

For your movement selection, you will need a maximum dial thickness of 3/4" (see #10004 or #10165 on the Klockit website for an example). This is providing that your slate is no thicker than 3/4".
I agree with "amrad" in regard to hanging the clock. You will not be able to do so by the movement (or with an additional movement hanger). You will have to either hang the clock by the slate itself or fabricate/purchase some sort of stand to set the slate on.
