Hi Buck,
I'm curious how a spring barrel could have lost teeth. The ones I've seen are pretty beefy! Sounds kinda' traumatic! Do you have a make & model for the movement?

I have seen many of these and repaired several. It is usually caused by someone using a winding key that is too large, and it slips while winding, causing the force of the spring to break off several teeth. It is also caused by a faulty click which slips causing the same thing. If you will post your location, I am sure there are several viewers who will respond to your request.
