The Graduate Barometer, a huge survey by the HR and employer branding research giant Trendance is soon to be completed by graduates. The most desirable place to work will be surveyed on, giving a good indicator of good employers.

The results will be interesting, especially in light of the recent economic situation to see if the top positions have changed. It will be certainly interesting to see if the recent redundancies have shifted perceptions in top employers. How this survey will differ from the popular Sunday Times Best Companies and Best Big Companies to Work For lists will be intriguing also.

However the results come out, we can expect to see some pertinent information for the industry as a whole. With so few companies doing big recruitment campaigns at the moment, there is concern over a developing talent gap over the next few years.

How can companies best cope in the near future? Well, hiring fresh talent now will equip them to deal with the future challenges the economy has to offer. A little PR spin on your employer brand will only go so far in these tough times, so a focused recruitment strategy that treats graduates well is a wise road to travel.
