When setting the clock for the daylight saving's time change I did something stupid. I moved the hour hand backward an hour. I figured that with a quartz movement it shouldn't matter.
Ever since the clock has been acting flakey. The penduluum swings, the clock chimes, albeit erratically, but the hands are frozen. I've moved the hands around and around and around. I've inserted two new batteries. No luck at unfreezing the hands.
Did I break the quartz movement? Is there any way to fix it? Or should I just buy a new movement like the one in the above URL?
In advance, thank you for any help or advice!

Most likely the clock movement just expired coincidentally with daylight savings time. Quartz clock movements last only a few years.
Next time I would just use the knob on the back of the movement to change the time, rather than moving the hands.

Thanks for the response, Amrad! I was not aware that quartz movements had such a limited lifespan. I guess I got my money's worth, as I paid only $40 for the clock ten years ago from a clock store sale table. Who knows how long it had been a wall model.
I did use the dial on the back to move the hands, but I did turn it counter-clockwise, and perhaps that was the last straw for the movement.
Again...thank you for the response! I guess I'll just have to buy a new quartz movement. Have a good weekend!

A big thank you for all the advice! I bought a new quartz movement for my wall clock, installed it last night, and we have returned to listening to Ave Marie every fifteen minutes. Thanks so much!
