I'm sorry to ask such a novice question, but I am really at my whits end. When I was younger my father had a wind up clock. It was small (about 6-7 inches tall) and of a skeleton clock design. However, it had a unique feature that I have never seen since. It had a small swing arm with a short string with a ball on the end. It would rotate on the axis parallel with the surface it sat on. The swing arm would wrap the string around a vertical post, the inertia would then unwrap the string to then get wrapped around another vertical post. Upon unwrapping of this post the swing arm would rotate to another pair of vertical posts and continue the wrapping and unwrapping around posts.

Does anyone have any idea how I can locate a clock of this design, or learn more about them?

Thank you in advance for any information and time.
