Any suggestions on where to buy planks for clock making and the types. I have been out of the shop for a long time. I don't really want to order it. I would like to pick it up at a local supply house if possible.

I have always found that the local lumberyard is the best place to begin. There are also wood vendors online that you can search out. You can also contact local lumber mills (if you have any) to see if you can arrange a sale/pick-up. Finally, local woodowrkers in your area (check local woodworking clubs) may be able to offer a source for lumber. Just a few suggestions...

You can find wood from your local shops as Chris said. You can also search for them online. There are a handful you can find out there and they'll even deliver it at your doorstep, hassle-free!
