Although this is similar to previous posts be patient. It's not the same. Sad

I wanted a cuckoo clock and couldn't really defend spending the money for a nice new one from Germany. So I got one cheap off Craigslist. (Yes, I knew what "cheap" might mean.) Rolling Eyes

It needed the wood refinished - done! It needed setup - no problem! It needed a 2nd weight - for the cuckoo drive - done. Very Happy

It keeps good time. Very Happy

It does NOT cuckoo. Shocked Or chime. It make a small "plock" sound on the half hour and a stronger "plock" on the hour, but no sounds or operations result. It acts as if the cuckoo is turned off but has no external switch, nor any hole where one once was. Internally it has a lever on the left side (as facing the clock) close to the front panel and a small access door. It seems impossible to move, though.

Both bellows are intact and work if the rods are moved. Everything inside looks straight, intact and clean if a bit oily. We made a weight of the same weight as the main weight (1500) and the chain feels as if it is in the inner wheel properly, clicking as the chain is pulled and looking - from the back door - as if lined up well. I've had a cuckoo before and all seems fine - except lack of sound. Confused

I did find a repair site that showed me that the tail wire on the bird was placed wrong but moving it did not help. The door opens fine when moved by hand - is free and the latch open.

It's an 8-day Regula but I have no idea of maker or age.

I am SO close to happiness! Hilf mir?

It sounds like something is stuck in the cuckoo gear train. Rotate the chain wheel back and forth a little to see where the blockage is. You should see all the wheels move back and forth.

Tell me what you found when you do this.
