Post subject: Wall clock identification
Hi all! I have a small wall clock with a gong chime. I can't figure out who made it and I am looking for some assistance. On the back of the movement is a bust of a man wearing a helmet with wings. There are various numbers stamped on the movement, but I assume these are serials of some sort. It has a porcelain dial with roman numerals. The glass on the front and sides is good but shows slight defects from pre 1959 float glass, but good enough to be post 1905. The crudeness of the machine screws, lathe and other woodwork would seem to indicate 1905-1925 manufacturing. It appears to be "signed" on the back in pencil "Franz Rothenburg". I don't know if this was the assembly worker or the first owner or what.
