hi - not a big clock person but have a quick question - I believe the clock I have is a mid-century waterbury marine clock, w/ mercury indicator and lower storm gauge. It has two winders both using the same key. I am told at full wind she should run for 18 hrs. upon first few winds all went well, speed adjustments etc. but I believe since then I must have over-wound her - not beat on it but maybe just a hair too heavy handed - alas: can I somehow let this beauty self-unwind. can I wind backward? I would hate to take it apart but, seeing as I know nothing about these mechanics, might it be best to have a pro come take a look?

many cheers
