Post subject: waterbury clock
We have a waterbury antique clock that I'm not sure is a kitchen clock or an antique wall clock. It belonged to someone in my husband's family who must have decided to become a clock repairman. That said anyone's mind is now going to what the clock looks like: it's in pieces inside. The outside is in great condition although it's missing a piece of the bottom trim. It appears to have all of its parts inside and I'm just wondering if it's worth having this thing repair and/or restored. Thanks for any input

Hello
What do you mean "in pieces"? Is the movement complete or are there gears everywhere?
Second, What is the value to you to have this clock running? Is it a family heirloom? Do you intend to pass it on to your children as such?
The reason i am asking is because just to get the movement cleaned and oiled usually costs around $50.00 to $100.00+. That does not include getting it put back together or refurbishing the case.
As far as a monetary value to the clock-Don't Know would have to look at it(pics). Best i can tell you is to go on ebay and compare clocks to yours and see what they are selling for or go to the library and do a little research.
In the end it just depends on how much you like the clock and what it means to you.
