I've bought antique mantel clocks without any information about manufacturer.
On the mechanism I found letters HB and number.
Pendulum was lost and I've built a new one. At now clock moving about 3 minutes ahead per 24hrs and I need a key for the FAST/SLOW adjustment. The square shaft of that clock fits 1.0mm. Any ideas where I could find it.
I'll appreciate any help.
Ilya

nice french movement. Usually there is a stamp on the back plate of the maker or dealer. if you have nothing at all there then you will probably not find out who made it.

keys can be bought from any supplier, you should get a double-ended french type to match the clock although this is not absolutly nessecary.

Thank you, clokfxr!
You are absolutely right. Key is not necessary. I've already adjusted that clock and everything O.K, There is beautiful chumming.
Why are you supposing it is French?
Sincerely,
Ilya

I've been repairing clocks for a lot of years and instantly recognise most, not all mechanisms.

Thank you very much!
I hate to be annoying but could you answer for one more question?
At now all possible adjustments on maximum position but
the clock still moving ahead about one minute per day.
The pendulum I've made is about 3oz.
What is yours opinion - is increasing of weight could slowdown the clock?
Best regards,
Ilya

Increasing the weight may help. You could always try sticking magnets (temporarily) on the backside of the pendulum bob to add weight. This way, you could test the waters to see how additional weight may affect timekeeping.
