We inherited an old grandfather clock. It doesn't work anymore. I had a clock guy look at it and he said it's all gummed up, the pendelum is broken, he wasn't interested in repairing it. Can I buy a new piece and replace the guts of the clock? It belonged to a grandparent and we would like to make it work again. Do you have any suggestions?

It could be repaired, it seems like the person was not interested in the job. I would search someone else out. Being gummed up means it just needs a good cleaning, it might also need some other repairs.

It may be possible to replace the movement with a new one as well.

The NAWCC website has a database of clock repair people by state, so you may want to check there for someone.
