family heirloom passed to me. Medbury, 3 key, 8 day, Mahogany Case, gong chimes. Thanks , bph

The unfortunate fact about tambours is that they are just about plain worthless. What you are calling "3-key" I would gather you mean 3 key (winding) holes, which would indicate a chiming clock, but no clock I no of plays chimes on a gong. Seth Thomas made a clock with "Sonora chimes" which played on bells. If this is what you have, it would not be in a tambour (Napoleon Hat) style case. So, apart from the confusion, if you have a Sonora clock, it is worth something - otherwise, tambour clocks you can't hardly give away.
