worn to tight!!!

I have an old wall clock and someone has worn the clock to tight. Can someone tell me how to release the movement with out damaging it. Thanks for any help.

u mean wound it too tight?

no such thing in a sense - if it doesn't tick then u have to take the mechanism out and if u don't know EXACTLY what u r doing you could harm yourself.

Yes. Wound is the correct word. I understand what you are saying about it can't be wound to tight. I will look at it in a different way from now on. Thanks for the good advice.
